SD card

Hi all,

First post total newbie, thanks for your patience in advance.

So I've been given a project to work on a parallella board. The SD card has already been set up before I got to it (for ethernet connection). I am now trying to make it wireless.

So I have taken another look at the SD card and I am following this thread; https://parallella.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1278

which led me to;

(Activate the devtmpfs)

https://elinux.org/Parallella_Speed_Up_Ubuntu#Enable_devtmpfs

I got as far as;

Edit devicetree.dts.

sudo nano devicetree.dts

(Search(Ctrl-W) and Edit the "bootargs" line then save)

bootargs = "root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootfstype=ext4 rootwait";

Compile it to dtb to enable it.

sudo dtc -I dts -O dtb -o devicetree.dtb devicetree.dts

however this gave me a syntax error. After searching around on the web I then came to this;

https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/Device-Tree-Error-unable-to-parse-input-tree/td-p/754945

telling me to include;

/include/ "zynq-7000.dtsi"

however upon including this there was no such file directory. Sooooo I found this;

https://parallella.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=4280

https://github.com/parallella/parabuntu ... -2016.11.1

Would this be the correct route to go down, or am I totally lost. Basically I've gone so far down the rabbit hole now I'm a bit lost. I'm sure I have said something stupid that doesn't make sense but any help would be appreciated thank you :)

Re: SD card

Hi @lukewllr1

This will create a system.dtb from system.dts file.

 dtc -I dts -O dtb -o system.dtb system.dts

This will create a system.dts from system.dtb file.

dtc -I dtb -O dts -o system.dts system.dtb

Thanks & regards
