ZC706 linux command prompt freezes... any ideas?

Hi All,

 

So I am trying to boot linux on zc706 from SD card. However, after the kernel is booted, the command prompt freezes and I cannot type any words. Any ideas on what is gonig on? I am using linaro file system but that should not be a big issue...

I had a similar issue the other day.  Turned out it wasnt the board that was locked up; it was our minicom session.  minicom had hardware flow control on, and since the ZC706 USB UART doesn't use flow control, minicom was stuck waiting for permission to send characters.  Try checking your flow control settings in your terminal interface with the USB UART or if you can determine your ZC706's IP address after it boots (i.e. check a DHCP server's table for the MAC and the allocated IP), try logging into the board via ssh or telnet.
