Clustered ML605s

My research team has a pair of ML605 boards, and we want to pair them up for some of our experiments (one ML605 will server as the test bench and the other as a processor emulator). We'd prefer to use the FMCs but would consider other ports. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of setup that could offer advice on where to get parts and such? Thanks.

Re: Clustered ML605s

Absent any meaningful details, what you describe sounds just fine.  Have you already searched the web for FMC and VITA?

Re: Clustered ML605s

It depends on the requirements of the bandwidth and latency of the data exchanged between the two boards. Several options I can think of:

  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • MGT
  • I heard some company makes a cable that connects two FMC connectors. You may want to google that if this is what you want to use.
