Power Measurement on Linux using PMBUS

I'm developing an application that needs power measurements from the UCD9248. 

I used the following techtip to write the module,

however on time stamping i realized that getting one sample of all ten rails takes about 18ms, whereas i need to measure every 10ms. 

 

Is this measurement correct? If so , is there something i can do to speedup the process?

 

The power controller data sheet states that the ucd9248 is capable of measuring at 200ksps. and that the PMBUS can support upto 400KHZ, do i have to change some hardware parameters to achieve this?

 

If it is not possible to do this, is there some other way to measure power at this rate?
