Vivado 2017.4 lab edition instalation

I have read the installation and setup guide for Vivado 2017.4.  I have the webpack on my system, but need to add the Lab edition for the purpose of programming and supporting production environments.  I am running Windows 7 Professional.  I do not have xsetup.exe on my machine.  Where does Xilinx recommend downloading this application from?  I work for a government contractor, so  I need to request this application be verified before putting it on machines which access government information.

Does Xilinx plan on eventually creating a lab version which is self extracting and installing?  In lab environments, it is common to need just the programming tools such as Impact in the past.  They may only be programming or verifying programming and the project file may not be available.

Hi @rbrown_drs,

Xilinx do provide a standalone lab version of Vivado and please find instructions below on how to obtain it.

To download the Vivado Programming Tools standalone:

  • Go to the Downloads page at:
  • Select Vivado from the options.
  • Click on the version of the tools (for example, 2017.4), that you wish to obtain.
  • Scroll down to the Vivado Lab Solutions version of the software.
  • Download, extract the file, and run "setup.exe".
  • Follow the installation prompts.
  • On the "Vivado Lab Edition" screen ensure you select the "Install Cable Drivers" option.
  • Follow the prompts to select the install location and finish installation.
