.mcs file generation for multiple EEPROMs

Jump to solution

Hi Community,

Attached is the schematics for a next design. This is the first time we will be using two EEPROMs in the design.

Can somebody please confirm whether the first mcs file will be downloaded to the 8M-bit EEPROM?

I believe, the 8M-bit EEPROM will be the first EEPROM that JTAG will "see/detect" in the chain.

Please confirm.

Thanks!

Hi,

I think the mcs file that you will generate for both the PROMs will be different.
When you select the MCS file for device F32P, ID code of that device will be matched and that PROM in the JTAG chain will be programmed.
Similarly, when you select the MCS file generated for device F08P, that PROM will be programmed.

So it depends on what device's IDCode will be matched irrespective of which device is first in the JTAG chain.

Hope this helps!
