Hello,

every time I try to start the implementation Vivado crashes. I'm using version 2016.3 on Ubuntu 16.04.1. I get the following error report:

Re: Vivado 2016.3 crashes when starting implementation

Hi @Anonymous

1. Did you encounter this crash with every project?

2. If the crash is specific to a project, share your project.

3. Try running implementation in tcl mode.

  1. open Vivado in tcl mode: vivado -mode tcl
  2. open project: open_project /path/to/project/project_1.xpr
  3. launch implementation: launch_runs impl_1

Thanks,

Vinay

Re: Vivado 2016.3 crashes when starting implementation

Hi @Anonymous

If this crash is not design specific, try re-installing Vivado and see if that helps.

Thanks,Vijay

Re: Vivado 2016.3 crashes when starting implementation

@Anonymous,

Can you try running implementation after disabling the multithreading:

Re: Vivado 2016.3 crashes when starting implementation

I had the same issue (Vivado 2016.1), with Vivado crashing as soon as I wanted to start Implementation (even when synthesis wasn't done yet). This was only happening with one project, others worked fine.

Solution for me was to delete everything in the Work/ProjectName.runs/impl_1 folder, after this implementation worked and regenerated all the files in that folder.
