Hello @akhilchandra,
To use Vivado, you need to generate and activate activation based license (.xml) file instead of (.lic) file. To know the procedure, you can have a look at this video

You need to go to xilinx licensing site from Vivado license manager.
Open Vivado license manager -> Obtain license -> select vivado webpack license -> connect now.
This will navigate you to the Xilinx licenseing site.
Login with details and now you will be able to see Vivado webpack license under activation based licenses section

The activation licensing section below is disabled either because Vivado License Manager was not used to initiate this web session or because an Activation license has already been generated using this unique request ID.

Let me assume that I have donwloaded reference.xml file but where can i find it?
I recieved a mail including .lic file and not any other files. If this file is not sent through email where can i find it in ubuntu 14.04
