Jump to solution

Hi,

I have seen some places in the xilixn website and vivado 2014.1 documents that vivado 2014.1 can support OpenCL as a new feature

but I coudn't find anything regarding to the OpenCL after installing this version.

Could anybody tel me it is possible to use OpenCL in Vivado-HLS or Vivado?

Yes, VHLS 2014.1 supports OpenCL C kernel as input source. It requires a speicial license. Please check with your FAE on how to get the license.

Is it planned to remove this requirement in future Vivado releases?  I remember that Vivado 2012.1 required a special license to be used but the requirement was removed in 2012.2, which could be used with the regular license, so I wonder if the same will apply to this.

EDIT:  Out of curiosity I installed Vivado HLS 2014.3 and tried to synthesize a function in a .cl file, which resulted in

@E [LIC-104] License feature [HLS_BETA] is not available.

so I guess this means that OpenCL will be available with the regular HLS license as soon as it leaves the beta stage.
