DDR size reduced from 2GB to 1GB,run DPU program causes Linux to get stuck

hi all,

We use DPU IP to do object detection on our own FPGA board. The program runs normally on the FPGA board of DDR 2GB,when moved to the FPGA board of DDR 1GB, the whole Linux system get stuck.,and I have to power off and restart it.

 

I don't know if the problem is in the driver settings or the use of DPU?

For now we don't have a compulsory memory limitation here for DNNDK software stack.

Here are some debug suggestions I can think about:

1. For DTS node I would suggest you to refer to https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/ip_documentation/dpu/v3_0/pg338-dpu.pdf. It has detailed descripton about the details inside the node(the interrupt should be 0x4 not 0x1, typo in the document). And I don't see reg and memory parameters. I would suggest you to remove them.

2. If you configure the DDR size correctly in IPI, the PetaLinux should update the associated memory configurations in DTS(not inside the DPU node), you can double check about that.

3. Since you may alreay use large size of memory for a boot up DNNDK platform. I would suggest you to check the memory occupation before and after running your application

4. Comment part of the code and check if the application can run properly.
