synchronization issue with tx data

Jump to solution

Hi everyone,

I have an issue here, transmitting data is not synchronized with reference clock.

ref clk used= 133.33 Mhz,

tx line rate =  6.66667 gbps

test case: I changed "tx .dat " file to all zero's and at the test bench, I scrambled data and for this I generated clock (6.66667) which is same as line rate (6.66667gbs) and sent to receiver to avoid clock (CDR) recovery issues.

problem 1: I am not able to map tx and rx port on hardware.

problem 2: I found out synchronization issue

Thank you.

For GT, you will be providing parallel data as input. To which clock you are expecting serial data to be synchronous?

To which port of GT, did you connect the 6.66667 clock.

Re: synchronization issue with tx data

I am expecting serial data to be synchronous with GT Reference clock (I used 133.333Mhz reference clock on GUI tool to generate 6.66667GHz).

I didn't connect 6.66667 clock, I think GUI does automatically for data transmission.

I generated own 6.66667 clock in testbench for other purpose like building a scrambler block and this own created clock is synchronous with GT reference clock as expected. I am assuming serial data must be synchronous to 6.66667GHz created clock of mine.

I am using Super clock module to generate 133.333 MHz Ref clock on Hardware.

thank you.

serial data output from GT is not expected to be synchronous to the reference clock input. Also to the 6.66667GHz created clock.

what is the solution? I want to do XOR between Serial data which is not synchronous and my generated data which is synchronous to ref clock, I want both to be synchronous for my analysis.

Please think of some simpler ways of checking the data. Comparing the data in parallel domain is easier than doing it in serialized data.

If you check the GT wizard example, it automatically does the comparison of the txdata and rxdata and provides the status signals. If your intended operation is this, please use the GT wizard example design.
