GT Quads and PCIE4

Jump to solution

Hi All,

From Xilinx device diagram, how to find the PCIe XY which corresponds to Quads?

For example, how do I find quads attached to X1Y0?

Hi @crisilc ,

The selection of the GT quad depends on the IP configuration(lanes).GT Quad is comprised of four GT lanes. When selecting GT Quads for the PCIe IP, We recommends that you use the GT Quad most adjacent to the PCIe hard block. For example in the above diagram, If you configure for 4 lanes(PCIe X1Y0), you can use quad 224 which is on the left side of the PCIe block. If it is configured for lane 8 then quad 224 and quad 225 can be used.

Regards,

Deepthi.

Hi Deepthi,

"If you configure for 4 lanes(PCIe X1Y0), you can use quad 224 which is on the left side of the PCIe block"

Can I use 225 with x4 settings and still use hard block PCIe X1Y0 ? Basically, can we use any Quads in the hard block for PICe x4 or does it has to be 224?

@crisilc ,

It has to be GTH Quad 224 and up. We dont recommend to choose 225 directly. Vivado may throw error/critical warning too if I remember.

Regards

Praveen
