in'gHow to design DMA to communite between PCIe interface and host computer

Hi，

     I am designing PCIe  interfaces  in spartn-6 device。I plan to finish the project by two steps. The first step, I  call a IP ，which converts serial signals of PCie to 32-bit parallel transceiving signals. The second step, I should design  the module for  32-bit parallel transceiving signals to commuite with the upper computter at the aid of driver. I think "DMA(direct memory access)" can act as the module. However, I  only understand  how to function by "DMA",  I don't know what  "DMA"  to do  in detail. I want to realize the “DMA”  in verilog language  in spartan-6 FPGA.  I  find out a ton of paper, however, I don't find out a useful clue。

     Can you help me  with  thought and some paper about "DMA"?
