How to send debug messages in MCS?

Hi all,

      Am working in MCS with Spartan 6 FPGA, am new to this. The MCS contain an in built UART, hera am using this UART only for receiving and sending commands from the PC. I faced an issue that the MCS went to some infinite loop. So I need to debug this issue. I need to know, is there any options to send the debug messages to PC without using that inbuit UART.

What is a 'MCS'?  Is it a component?  A program?  An RTL (verilog/VHDL) module?

Are you referring to a MicroBlaze soft uP system?  Are you following an application note?  Example design?

Need more information.
