Want to use Timer on PowerPC

Hello All,

I am just a beginer programming with C on the Power PC 405 system created from XPS tool. Now, i would like to use timer on my application. So, In HW side, the opb_timer module (OPB Timer/Counter v1.00b) that it is a general timer module provide from Xilinx is included into my sytem by XPS tool, and also its mapping address has done.  In SW side, i create an application and debug that application by SDK tool. The problem is that i really don't know how to connect with the opb_timer created on the hw system.

Note : I'm working on Virtex2P XC2VP30.

Please anyone suggest me to use it.

Thanks

Pex

Hi,

I would use the PPC405s PIT (Programmable Interrupt Timer) functionality! It should be sufficient enough and you don't need external

hardware...

Rgds,
