Zynq US+ PS_REF_CLK jitter

Hello,

 

I'm in trouble by reading the datasheet of the Zynq UltraScale+. On table 34 of ds925, for the PS_REF_CLK, the input RMS jitter required is less than 3ps but about how jitter this is refering to, Total Jitter @BER, cycle to cycle jitter or any other....

Hello @matth32,

 

This is assuming the PS reference clock jitter is a normal (Gaussian) distribution and the RMS value is the standard deviation from your sample.  From the table you can see that the Peak to Peak jitter measurement is derived from a minimum sample size of 10K

Hello ryana,

 

I agree with the RMS and peak to peak value but my question is related to what kind of jitter we are talking about.

The peak to peak value is specified for the period jitter (with a certain number of clock cycles) but is the RMS value is also related to the period jitter or is related for another jitter?

Hi,

  May I have the quesion about the PS_REF_CLK input RMS clock jitter? It's a period jitter, but what the period range is? In the spec. , there is no integration range definiton for the RMS jitter.
