xmd debug provision for ARM processor?

Hi All,

 

In my design I want to debug the Embedded IP cores connected to the ZYNQ ARM processor.

Do I have any provision similar to XMD for Microblaze/PPC?

If not, how can I connect to ARM and test the cores by accessing the internal registers of the core?

You can execute the application on ARM using XMD, the first thing you want to do is to connect to the arm processor. Initialize the PS peripherals, download the .bit file (if you have any PL logic), set the level shifters, download the application, and run it. 

 

connect arm hw  //connect to arm processor
source proc/hw_platform_0/ps7_init.tcl  //source the initialization tcl file
ps7_init    //initialize the ps peripherals
fpga -f output/arm_subsystem_wrapper.bit  //configure the PL side (optional)
ps7_post_config  //set the level shifters (only required when using the PL logic)
dow proc/test/Debug/test.elf  //download the application file
run  //execute the application
