USB IP Cores

Hello -----

Does anyone know of a low cost USB IP core that I can use with MicroBlaze in an embedded design using EDK, say in a Spartan 3A or Spartan 6 design for a commercial product ?

The only choices I have found so far are...

  (1) Commercial IP core - but cost is $10K and over !

  (2) Opencores - either buggy or encumbered by GPL license

  (3) Use external USB chip like FTDI, Cypress, etc.

You would think that an IP core for USB would be a commodity item these days, since USB has been around so long, and either low cost or free.  Ethernet is.

Re: USB IP Cores

You can refer to below AR about using epc core with external USB chip

http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/application_notes/xapp925.pdf

This is not a high-performance solution, but should be easy to develop.
