GTP do not working

Jump to solution
Hi, everyone.
I use pcie core on artix7 fpga. I use refclk from pcie bus driving a led, refxlk has been divied, the led do not twinkling, but after i replace refclk with a clk from common clk io, led works.
I have used the ibufgds_gte2, and l am very sure that refclk is normal.
Can someone enlighten me?
thanks very much.

I have solved it. I made a wrong power name in scheme, GTP is not powered.

Try bringing the refclk from the IBUFGDS_GTE2 to a test point, and looking at it with an oscilloscope..   Or bring the clock to a BUFG and then a divider for the LED if you don't have a scope.   Try verifying the clock before it goes to the PCIE block.

Thanks for your reply. These ways I have tried, and LED do not work and oscilloscope can not dedicate any signal. But I can dedicate source clk signal, and its diff voltage about 600mV.

Are you sending the IBUFDS_GTE* ODIV2 output through a BUFG to an ODDR to drive the output?  What frequency are you driving the output and what IO standard?  I think an Oscilloscope would be more reliable for this than an LED for this test.  You could even use an ILA based on a different clock rate if you just looking for signs of life.

@roym Thanks for your reply. I have tried your suggestion, oscilloscope don't dedicates any signal.
And I use a refclk from PCIe bus, and a lvds osc.
