GTX transceiver:DRP clock

Hello everyone!

I am using 7 series GTX Ttransceiver.I have a question:

Is DRP clock must be provided?

can DRP_CLK_IN_P/N left floating(no connection)?

Re: GTX transceiver:DRP clock

Hello.
7 series GTX can operate without connecting DRPCLK.
However, in the example design of the transceiver wizard, the external input DRP_CLK is also used for sysclk and so on.
Therefore, DRP_CLK_IN_P / N may not be able to float.

Yes. A local clock (DRP clock) is necessary for startup FSM and others.

Re: GTX transceiver:DRP clock

It indicates that the external input DRP_CLK is used other than the GTX DRP clock.

@t_noguchi

I don't have more differential clock for DRP,Can I provide a single-ended clock directly to sysclk?

Re: GTX transceiver:DRP clock

Yes,  The system clock input can be changed to single ended but it must still go through the BUFG.
