STARTUP_VIRTEX5 has an output of the configuration internal oscillator (around 50 MHz). See page 104 of this document for more details: http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/user_guides/ug191.pdf

This is not possible.

Can you please give details about your query?
what you are actually trying to do here?

Thanks,
Yash

Hi,

In my vhdl file, I have a process which needs clk signal. I would like to create internal clk signal by internal oscillator. Is there internal oscillator in xilinx library (Virtex-5 component)?

Best Regards

Nicolas

No, there is not. Your best source is an MMCM or PLL, which has to be driven from an external clock. Xilinx FPGA's need at least one (external) clock.

Yes, but the config clock can (and often does) go away after startup.  See your board design to find out.
