Simulation library compilation wizard does not select modeslim DE

Jump to solution

When I launch the Simulation library compilation wizard gui, only one simulation option is available.

modelsim SE

The other  four options e.g. PE, DE, Questa Sim, Riviera-PRO are grayed out so I cannot select  modesim DE.

Consequently, the compilation fails.

I am using ISE 12.3 with windows 7 professional.

modelsim DE

Does anyone else have this problem?

Does Xilinx ISE 12.3 suport this feature in windows 7.

I tried to use compxlib -help in a command window, but the command is not recognised.

I uninstalled xilinx and reinstalled again. But still have the same problem.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

thanks

Few things to check

1) Check the Edit --> Properties --> Integrated Tools section to make sure you are pointing to the ModelSim DE install, not ModelSim SE

2) Check that ModelSim DE installation path is listed in your %PATH% environment variable

3) You can run Compxlib via command line instead.  To do this first, you need to launch the "ISE Design Suite Command Prompt", which is available from the Start menu --> Programs --> Xilinx ISE Design Suite --> Accessories.  You can then run compxlib -help to learn which switches to use.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Suggestions #1 and #2 were ok.

Suggestion #3 was interesting. I tried to run from the command line as mention and got the following error message

COMPXLIB[sim] Simulator "mti_de" does not support "nt64" platform.

Simulator mti_de is ignored

That's strange. I would have expected modeslim DE to be supported in a windows 7    64 bit platform.

as I'm sure a lot of people are using it also.

I will contact Mentor graphics. In the mean time do you have any other suggerstions that I could try?
