redirect simulate.log to another file in vivado

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am running a tcl script to run different test cases. so before each test case, I want to redirect the output of tcl console to a different file.

What is the option to redirect the simulate.log to a different file?

Thanks,

Asan.

Hi,

You can use -log <filename> to save simulate.log in another file.

refer page number 113 for more details in the below document.

HI, I allow myself to up this topic.

I'm using Vivado 2017.4, and the commands xvhdl, xelab, are not recognized anymore. And xsim doesn't use -log anymore.

Anyone can help me to write my simulation script, and to save the simulation.log at each test case I launch? The vivado documentation

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2017_4/ug900-vivado-logic-simulation.pdf#nameddest=xVivadoSimulatorQuickReferenceGuide

talking about xvhdl xelab... whereas it is not recognised in tcl console.

Thanks for help.

Johan
