Can Spartan 3 XC3S400 be used with MT48LC32M16A2 ( 32 M * 16 SDRAM) ? Is there any Spartan 3 XC3S400 hardware reference manual which suggests ways to interface external memory and other devices. Thanks :)

Re: SRAM

My custom board uses a Micron MT48LC16M8A2 with the Spartan XC3S700A FPGA running at 50MHz and that is working well.

Obviously you will need to find a SDRAM controller that handles SDR SDRAM.  I am using the MicroBlaze CPU so the obvious choice for me was the Xilinx mpmc core.  For a CPU-less design, check out opencores.org as mentioned above.

For pin assignments basically I grouped the data / clock lines on one 3.3 volt bank and address / control lines on another.

Thank you kurgan. The memory used is similar to the one i'm trying to use. I have downloaded the v files.

Thanks Jim. I am trying to use it with a Blackfin processor. I just wanted to know if PC133 was supported by the FPGA. I Got my answer.
