Re: needing suggestion to build an pci ethernet card

Hi,

What is the device targetted ?

Is this conventional  PCI or PCI Express based product you are looking for ?

E\What is the Ethernet spec 1G of further ?

You can refer to all 5, 6 series xilinx eval kits have PCIe and Ethernet RJ45 interfaces.

V5- ML555,ML505/6/7

S6 - SP605

V6-ML605

There are 7 series cards with SFP cages capable for using 10G applications also.

A7 - AC701

K7-KC705

V7-VC707/9

Regards,

KR

Pretty much all Ethernet controller chips have PCI or PCIe interfaces, so why are you asking about this on an FPGA design forum?

----------------------------Yes, I do this for a living.

Re: needing suggestion to build an pci ethernet card

thanks for helps.

  :

firlstly, i am looking for PCIe standard.

Secondly, i need a kit with example code  relevant to my issuse as much as possible. it will be the best if there is a NIC example. easy to develop is the most important.

Last but not least, the price of board .

Could you suggest me some? thanks

You're not getting it. Why do you need an FPGA?

Re: needing suggestion to build an pci ethernet card

Hi,

Can you please elaborate about end goas as bassman is asking ?

There are some asics which already has this functionality in market.

Even though we do not have understanding about complete details of your end goal, i am assuming that you are trying to build your own NIC in FPGA.

For this you need to have a pcie core and ethernet cores. the Xilinx IP catalog has these cores. You can use them.

There is no readymade solution for you.

For 7 series, there are Targetted referance designs which has both networking and PCIe cores are used to build a NIC like design. You can refer to them for guidance.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

KR
