Can bitstream for XC7K325T-FBG676-2C work on XC7K325T-FFG676-2C without timing problem?

Jump to solution

Hi,

My project used XC7K325T-FBG676-2C and my bitstream is generated with this device without any timing error. Recently we move to XC7K325T-FFG676-2C which is the same device with diferent package. I read some post in the forum, it mentioned that there is some minor difference about the VCCAUX_IO power supply between this 2 package. My board has no problem with that, etc I have powered VCCAUX_IO  on my board.

But my concern is that is there any internal or I/O timing paramter difference between this two package? Because the customer may load old bitstream on the new board. Is it posiible to cause some timing problem? My design includes DDR3 memory controller on 533MHz and PCIe GEN3 core inside it.

Thanks.

Hi, @yu.peng  ,

For the timing violation concern, you can try to run report_timing_summary in the new device by opening the original routed.dcp.

Ex:

open_checkpoint -part NEW_PART XX_routed.dcp

report_timing_summary -file timing.rpt

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I run the commands and get some timing violation.

It means there is risk for loading old bitstream on the new board.

Hi,

Is there any way to target both of the 2 device when doing the place and routing, then make sure the routed design has not timing violation on both device?
