Programming FPGA with PROGRAM_n set to Low?

Jump to solution

Hi,

We are using an XCVU3P FPGA in our design. We have connected the PROGRAM_B pin of FPGA to POR signal. In our board, some fault has occurred, due to which POR is always low. As POR is connected to multiple devices on board, we are not sure which device is pulling it low. We need to verify that FPGA is not faulty and is not driving this signal low. We have tried connecting JTAG and the FPGA device is detected in Vivado Hardware Manager. Is this sufficient to ensure that FPGA is fine? Is there a way to program FPGA using JTAG even when PROGRAM_B pin is low?

Regards,

Raja

Hi Raja,

Yes, FPGA can be detected by JTAG and should be fine. FPGA can't be programmed if PROG_B is low.

Thanks
