Ultrascale ODELAYE3 Delay Resolution issue

Hi,

 

I tried to simulate ODELAYE3 in component mode, as per i/o delay timing characteristics, Virtex UltraScale+ devices support up to 1.1 ns.

but i just load up to  the CNTVALUEIN = 9'h1FF, getting delay in the line is 2.19 ns for this value. Could someone help to tell me what I missing?

 

Device : Xilinx XCVU9P-2FSGD2104E Virtex UltraScale+ 

Tolls   : Xilinx Vivado 2018.1

In time mode Virtex UltraScale+ devices support up to 1.1 ns.

for the count mode ,  the delay line has minumum of  512taps*2.1ps  =1075ps ~= 1.1ns . The Maximum is 512taps*12ps = 6.144 ns.

2.1 ps to 12 ps is the IDELAY/ODELAY chain resolution and this is the resolution over PVT and not depends on REFCLK of the IDELAYCTRL.

As you mentioned , you are getting 2.19 ns for maximum number of Tap, which is correct. In this case the ODELAY chain resolution is 

4.2 ps  which is in the range of (2.1ps to 12 ps)

In any case, is it possible to change in ODELAY chain resolution to above device?.

User dont have Opportunity to change the Tap delay resolution. The resolution is over PVT .

What is the delay requirement in your application ?
