ZCU102 Software Reset Hanging

Jump to solution

I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this behavior.  I am running the pre-built 2016.4 ES2 Linux images on a ZCU102 ES2 board, and any shutdown method I have tried hangs.  The simplest case is to issue a reset in uboot.

U-Boot 2016.07 (Dec 16 2016 - 03:23:39 -0700) Xilinx ZynqMP ZCU102

I2C: ready
DRAM: 4 GiB
EL Level: EL2
Chip ID: xczu9eg
MMC: sdhci@ff170000: 0
SF: Detected N25Q512A with page size 512 Bytes, erase size 128 KiB, total 128 MiB
In: serial
Out: serial
Err: serial
Net: ZYNQ GEM: ff0e0000, phyaddr 12, interface rgmii-id
eth0: ethernet@ff0e0000
Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
ZynqMP> reset
resetting ...
PMUFW: PmSystemShutdown: (1, 0)

When I try this, it hangs there indefinitely.

OK, I found this answer record:

While it doesn't provide a workaround for u-boot, it does at least identify the cause.
