Use of "Number of video stream" | VCU configuration

Jump to solution

Can anybody tell me what is the meaning of the "number of video stream" in VCU decoder configuration?

The "number of video stream=1 or Number of video stream=8 in VCU decoder configuration" both are giving me the same performance for decoding the 8 different RTSP streams.

who this option will helpful for us when we are targeting the 8 number of streams?

HI @deepg799

It is just to set the worst cases for what memory you need. Same for the max resolution.

In general you just want to set the worst bandwidth configuration (for example set 1 stream 4k60 even if you want to do 8 streams 1080p30). But sometimes there are some tricks (for example you better set 2 streams of 4k30 than 1 4k60). Check the resource utilization on the GUI to find the worst of your use cases.

Hi @deepg799

In the VCU configuration, you need to set the worst use case you are going to use. This will set the HW usage.

So multiple configuration will work with the same GUI configuration but some might not work if there is not enough memory instantiated
