ZCU106: TRD for VCU

Hello,

I took the example project from

http://www.wiki.xilinx.com/Zynq%20UltraScale%20MPSoC%20VCU%20TRD%202018.1%20-%20Design%20Module%204?responseToken=0d2781738bdcd858a1b3ed4416948c3c4

this project runs well but when I check the CPU load (using TOP), I found that in 4K, 60Hz the load is around 88% (TOP tool only shows CPU usage for one core) for HEVC_HIGH.

I would like to know why the CPU usage is high?

Thanking you

Best regards

Hi @msh,

You should be able to do some profiling on the CPU to check why the CPU usage is so high. It might depends on your source/sink if writing from a file or to network

I just use the MIPI camera just like in the project.

Then use the encoder and decoder for the stream to display in HDMI without saving the stream as it explained in the example with the .cfg file. Not sure what software is doing though I just took the image file.

% vcu_gst_app /media/card/config/1-4kp60/Display/Single_4kp60_HEVC_HIGH.cfg

How can I do profiling?

Best regards

Hi @msh

I think you can use this:

http://www.wiki.xilinx.com/Zynq+UltraScale%EF%BC%8BMPSoC+Graphics-+GPU+Profiling+using+ARM+Streamline+performance+analyzer

And adapt it from your project
