Display port baremetal example error

Jump to solution

Hello,

I recently acquirred a bord ultra96v2 and decided to try the displayport application,

My .hdl project is really simple, i just have the MPSoC ip from my ultrascale + the Display port activated at the reference given by the schematic of the board.

the SDK project consists on the xdpdma_video_example and in my bsp i use dppsu api for the display port.

When i launch the application i get the error "! 1st power wake-up - AUX write failed.  ! 2nd power wake-up - AUX write failed"

and it continues trying to power-up.

I read in one post that it could come from the cable. I checked and the one i use has already been use by someone else in a project and was working (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rankie-DisplayPort-Cable-Resolution-Ready-Black/dp/B00YOQYQWY/ref=asc_df_B00YOQYQWY/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309903005216&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2557213959613015009&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hv...)

... i wonder if it comes from the monitor but here again i used it for other project and it was working fine... the only thing is that each time i was using it with HDMI and not DP... i don't know how big is the difference, the cable is miniDP to HDMI so i suppose it is making the convertion.

If you have any idea of why it is not working :)

thank you for your help,

Best regards,

Sarah

Hello @sarah77wicker

As you mentioned cable is miniDP to HDMI and you think its making conversion, can you please provide details of your cable?

Kindly check this link, and Link2 (Cable/adapters) this will provide you additional information regarding miniDP to HDMI cable.

You need to use active adaptor for miniDP to HDMI conversion. This link provide details of miniDP to HDMI adaptor suitable for Ultra96 board.

Hi @bpatil,

the cable is the Ranki mini DP to HDMI cable, 4k Ready, i didn't found a lot of information except that it is not bi-directional... and no where i found the precision that it is an active adaptor...

I check the link you sent, in the end i used a cable mini DP to DP and it worked well i was able to have the image on the board.

thank you a lot for your help

Best regards,
Sarah
