ZCU104 VCU Application

Jump to solution

Hi all,

I am a beginner and I am using VCU on ZCU104 MPSOC to stream, encode and decode a web cam, see3CAM.

I am looking at https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/25329832/Zynq+UltraScale+MPSoC+VCU+TRD+2018.3 but it only provides for ZCU106.

Is there any VCU TRD design for ZCU104?

Thanks

HI @sdsocdso ,

If you open create a petalinux project from the BSP you can get the vivado design:

xilinx-zcu104-2018.3/hardware/xilinx-zcu104-2018.3

If you open the vivado design you will see that it does not include the HDMI IP. Thus, no, with this design you will not be able to use the HDMI connector.

About Displayport, this is complicated. You can use the Displayport connector because the Displayport is enabled in the Processing System (no need for an external IP). However, we cannot guaranty that using a DP to HDMI connector wilol work as per AR#71774.

If you are using a passive adaptor, there is no way that this is gonna work. If you are using an active adapter, it might work but we cannot guaranty it. So you might want ot caracterize this by yourself.

The best would be to use a DP monitor.

Regards,

The only ZCU104 design that includes the VCU is the ZCU104 BSP as the ZCU106 is the primary demostration platform for VCU applications.
