UltraScale Evaluation Boards: only SMA connector cables available to characterize 30+Gbps signals?
we plan to buy a VCU-108 UltraScale evaluation board. But there is just one cable (Samtec HW-HDR-155805-01-BEYE) recommended to mate to the BullsEye connectors, which has 61 cm long coaxial cables ending in SMA connectors rated for up to 20 GHz. Shouldn't it be possible to choose cables with less attenuation? Either shorter, or with e.g. SMA-2.92 connectors?
Samtec now has the BQRA cable series available, that can be assembled with cables of any length ending in SMA-2.92 connectors. But the mechanics of the BullsEye housing are slightly different. Would it be possible to mate these cables to the HW-HDR housing?
