Hi @ssampath,

The unmanaged constraints are mainly used to have controlling statements and loops to be used in constraint file. Please check the below thread which has the explanation regrading managed and unmanaged constraints.

Hi, @ssampath ,

In short, with the -unmanaged option, you can use any common Tcl command which can not be used in the ordinary XDC file.

Hi @hongh,

Thank You,

But what is the use of the usage of other(non-xdc) tcl commands in xdc .

I want to know the main intention for adding this option ?

Can you pls provide one small example ?

Thank You

Hi, @ssampath ,

Maybe you can use "for loop" statemnet to check the existing netlist after certain impl stage and create new constriants in the design to improve timing in the sebsequent stage.

Here, "for loop" statemnet cannot be used in ordinary XDC file.
