Asynchronous option on ISE

Jump to solution

Hi,

I used to work on Vivado, but I am now on project using ISE, so I am looking for an equivalent syntax of the "set_clock_groups - asynchronous" option for UCF. As I have a huge number of asynchronous clocks (more than ten), I am trying to avoid using a lot of "FROM-TO", but did not see anything about making asynchronous clock constraints on Xilinx documentation.

Is there any tips to have that kind of constraint with a few number of lines in UCF ?

Thanks

Hi,

UCF by default does not time between asynchronous clock groups, while in XDC, all clocks are considered related and timed unless otherwise constrained using
set_clock_groups

You have to time two different clock domains in case of ISE explicitly. all clock groups are asynchronous by default.

@glabouski,

We do have a userguide which helps in migrating between ISE and Vivado. Please go through it.
