Question on KC705's power module

Hi everyone,

I'm studying KC705's power management solution and one thing confuses me.

How are the shutdown current determined? Are they carefully calculated or just estimation?

I mean, from the user guide most of them are 10A or 20A, but in practical use current in FPGA seldom exceed a few ampere, so I'm really confused.

Much thanks if anyone can give me a hint.

For a development board, we sure have to design a bigger than usual threshold incase the customer implemented a current consuming design.

For your own board, you need to consider the power consumption on the board in future. You need to use Vivado power, XPE, etc, to properly estimate the possible max power on that specific board, and then choose the power rail, regulator, and shutdown current as needed.
