Source code for getting UART-to-USB from VC709 board to PC

I recently purchased a VC709 eval board and one of the reference designs included with the board is a BIST design.  Of interest to me is a way of getting data from the VC709 board to the PC to which it's connected, via the UART-to-USB interface and UART based terminal program on the PC.  The reference design source only includes the .bit file, not the VHDL source code.  Is there a way of getting the most simple source code that would allow me to get a data stream from the FPGA to the COM port on the PC.  I only need 3.2Kbps of data from FPGA->PC.

The VC709 BIST design includes source files and the PDF tutorial document instructs the end user on how to rebuild the design.
