Suggestions for Series 7 + high speed DAC/ADC

Jump to solution

Hi all. I'm in need of a development board to test some RF communications related VHDL code I've been working on. I've been designing towards Xilinx series 7 fpgas. I'm trying to find some sort of development board with a Kintex-7 fpga and the ability to daughter both a high-speed DAC and ADC. Most of the development boards I've seen have lot's of extra fluff that I really do not need. All I really need is an FPGA, clocking circuit and one (or two) FMC connectors. I would then need some daughter boards (or one) that can operate in the high Msps rate. Any suggestions? A lot of the stuff I've been looking at has huge factory lead times so I'd prefer something that is typically stocked.

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm looking at buying the same kit: Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA DSP Development Kit with High-Speed Analog in order to evaluate the ADC/DAc high speed connection for future development of embedded system of my own, using Kintex 7 different chip (

XC7K70T-2FBG484C).

On the demo video I see your engineer burning the BIT file and the systems starts to work.

I wonder if you also provide the source code using to generate this BIT file? (i.e. Verilog or VHDL or other files?)

I also checked 4DSP (Abaco) forums who manufactures the FMC150 card, regarding those cards and many of the forums end by "please contact our sales" on any firmware issues and inquiries.

After all, You charge $4,000 for an evaluation kit which is used for developing customer's applications and boards. It is not supposed to be a "One trick pony".
I would like to know which files comes with that EVM kit? Is it possible to download them and let our FPGA programmer review them?

All of the links above do not work. I have already checked them.

@aalabs First of all, its a good practice to post questions in a new thread than on a solved thread to get more attention and responses to your queries. new questions in  Solved threads get missed often.

Regarding your query, yes, the Kintex-7 DSP kit comes with a reference design

Hello,

It was the first time that I wrote to this forum and I thought that al the information about this subject should be in the same place.

I tried to open the link in your response:

www.em.avnet.com/kintex7dsp

The web page automatically routs me to:

https://www.avnet.com/wps/portal/us/

I don't see any downloads on this page.

Can you send a correct link?

Thanks

Hello,

Both of those links go to a general search engine for Xilinx products.

I tried to search for "Kintex-7 FPGA DSP" and I got many answers but none of them are the kit with the Analog I/O (FMC-150)

I also tried to search for Your search AES-K7DSP-325T-G and I got a message:
"AES-K7DSP-325T-G" did not match any results. Please try again.

Can you send a correct link or send the files directly to my E-mail?

Thanks.

Hello Satish,

I see that you marked this question as "resolved" but the issue is not resolved.

The links that you put on the forum:

http://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/AES-K7DSP-325T-G.htm

http://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/EK-K7-KC705-G.htm#amscard

Do not work! Please try them and you will see that both lead to a general Xilinx search page without any connections to the questions that I asked.

Can you search for the correct links for the firmware which comes with the KC705 + DSP evaluation board?

Thanks for sending a working link .

Unfortunately, the link to Mathworks, which is the most important link for the DSP package does not work.

Please send a correct link to Mathworks DSP files.

@aalabs I would suggest you contact Avnet as the files are hosted by them. You can post the query in their community too as well http://community.avnet.com/
