Using TRD reference design as basis for other project designs

Jump to solution
Hey all, Checking to see if the third party IP licensing is a problem for using the project described here as the basis for other designs on the ZC706 test board: http://www.wiki.xilinx.com/Zynq+PCIe+TRD+14.3 In the zip file they have both the eval and the full version of the IP, but when you create the project using the tcl script provided in the design it creates the project using the eval version of the NWL IP. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what the actual limitations of the eval version are and whether the license for the Full version of the IP can be used in it's place to create new designs using the back-end DMA provided by Northwest Logic. have a good one, Steve

The evaluation version of IP cores will stop working after a certain amount of time and render the design non-functional.

Thanks for the info. So I take it the full version of the IP that comes in the demo doesn't work unless you have the license from the NWL?

Does this mean you just have to power-cycle the board, or is it using non-volatile memory somewhere to keep track of runtime?

The runtime is from every configuration.  You don't need to power cycle the board, but you do need to reconfigure the device.
