ZCU102 APU Performance Monitoring

Jump to solution

How can I access APU performance registers from a C program? I am especially interested in determining CPU load, L1 hit/miss, etc. Basically the same metrics that can be read graphically using the SDK SPM project.

The assumption is that no operating system is used (standalone BSP). I am looking for a starting point on how to get access to the information outlined above. Documents like ug1145-sdk-system-performance seem to aim at graphic display.

You can get all the info about performance monitoring in the ARM V8 architecture Reference doc itself:

https://developer.arm.com/docs/ddi0487/latest/arm-architecture-reference-manual-armv8-for-armv8-a-architecture-profile

Look into section D6

Gents

I am looking for basically same thing as Alexander, but would like to run SPM for my Ultrazed-EG board, which has a XCZU3EG device.

Any thoughts about how to adapt (or if I can eventually use) the SPM_ZU_102_HwPlatform project to have access to the CPU and PL performance metrics, please?

Best regards.
