JTAG to axi master ip core issue

Hi,

I am using "zybo z7 20" eval. board and i am trying to access Memory (DDR) using xilinx IP "JTAG to AXI Master v1.2" by using commands given below.

Read operation :

create_hw_axi_txn -quiet -force rd_tx [get_hw_axis hw_axi_1] -address 0x00000000 -len 1 -size 32 -type read
run_hw_axi -quiet rd_tx
get_property DATA [get_hw_axi_txn rd_tx]

Write operation :

create_hw_axi_txn -quiet -force wr_tx [get_hw_axis hw_axi_1] -address 0x00000000 -data 12345678 -len 1 -size 32 -type write
run_hw_axi -quiet wr_tx

So this is working fine but i want to read or write as a byte or hex instead of word so from my understanding what i have read from data sheet "-size" stands for size of a beat within a burst of axi transactions. For that i am using commands given below

e.g. : 

for byte write

create_hw_axi_txn -quiet -force wr_tx [get_hw_axis hw_axi_1] -address 0x00000000 -data 45 -len 1 -size 8 -type write
run_hw_axi -quiet wr_tx

for hex write:

create_hw_axi_txn -quiet -force wr_tx [get_hw_axis hw_axi_1] -address 0x00000000 -data 2345 -len 1 -size 16 -type write
run_hw_axi -quiet wr_tx

for byte read :

create_hw_axi_txn -quiet -force rd_tx [get_hw_axis hw_axi_1] -address 0x00000000 -len 1 -size 16 -type read
run_hw_axi -quiet rd_tx
get_property DATA [get_hw_axi_txn rd_tx]

for hex read :

create_hw_axi_txn -quiet -force rd_tx [get_hw_axis hw_axi_1] -address 0x00000000 -len 1 -size 16 -type read
run_hw_axi -quiet rd_tx
get_property DATA [get_hw_axi_txn rd_tx]

But above commands is not working means i am not able to read and write for the same, So please help me how to read and write using JTAG to axi master
